In 2006, the Nobel Peace Prize committee recognized Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Bank for their success at creating economic development from below. The Grameen model is proven microcredit strategy used as a tool for economic development around the world, and Project Enterprise was the first organization to adapt it to the United States.

More than $1.7M in capital disbursed

PE has circulated more than $1.7M of capital into local neighborhoods with a 90% repayment rate.  With loans averaging $2,000, PE is able to reach hundreds of entrepreneurs with capital without requiring collateral or credit history.  In 2009 alone, PE lent more than $200,000 to hardworking entrepreneurs who were starting or expanding their own businesses.
